- Josep ROCA
Josep Roca is Director of the Lung Function Unit at the Hospital Clinic (Barcelona), Professor of Medicine at the University of Barcelona, and leader of the ICT program for chronic patient management at the Hospital Clínic. His is author of 180 peer-reviewed articles; editor of three books and author of several book chapters and review articles, Prof. Roca has broad interests in respiratory medicine and in chronic care. He is currently leading two consortia on research and development projects addressing different aspects of chronic diseases, including NEXES (CIP-PSP. Contract 225025, Supporting Healthier and Independent Living for Chronic Patients and Elderly, 2008-2011) and Biobridge (FP6-2005-LIFESCIHEALTH-7, Contract nº 037909, Integrative Genomics and Chronic Disease Phenotypes: modelling and simulation tools for clinicians, 2006-09). Josep Roca was President of the European Respiratory Society (ERS) during the period 2000-02.
