- Professeur LOUIS LARENG
Louis Lareng has been a member of the Management Committee of the International Society for Telemedicine and eHealth (ISfTeH ) since December 2007. In 1989 he was involved in the creation of the European Institute of Telemedicine at Paul Sabatier University and in 1998 the creation of the Regional Telemedicine Network in the form of a Health Cooperation Group. He has been chairman of the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Telemedicine Network Public Interest Group since April 2003 and chairman of the Midi-Pyrénées Telemedicine and eHealth Network Public Interest group since October 2009. He has also chaired the Midi-Pyrénées Regional Medical Personnel Steering Committee since November 2005 and the ESA’s Telemedicine Steering Committee since 1998. He was professor of Anaesthesia and Resuscitation at Toulouse Hospital between 1961 and1992. He is the founder of the Services d’Aide Médicale Urgente (SAMU, French ambulance and emergency service) and was a Member of Parliament for the Haute-Garonne between 1981 and 1986, Regional Councillor for Midi-Pyrénées between1981 and 1992 and from June 1997 to March1998, and Municipal Councillor for Toulouse between 1983 and 1995.
