Michel Gagneux is President of ASIP – the French Agency for shared information systems in healthcare – and General inspector of Social Affairs. Former director of the office of the minister for social affairs and solidarity, Michel Gagneux has held managerial positions in the public sector as well as the corporate environment. As a member of the social affairs general inspectorate, he has been the author and co-author of a variety of reports that have helped define public initiatives in the health and social fields. He is also a member of the French Interministerial Programmes Audit Committee (CIAP). In 1980, he joined the general inspectorate of social affairs straight from the Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA, a prestigious French business school). Between1982 and 1986, he was technical advisor to, and then director of, the office of the minister for social affairs and solidarity. From 1986 to 1993, he was CEO of Sonacotra. From 1992 to 1996, he held various management and corporate strategy advisory posts in a range of companies. In 1996, he returned to the general inspectorate of social affairs.
In December 2007, he was asked by Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin, French Health Minister, to chair the Personal Medical File Relaunch Mission. He submitted his report in May 2008.
He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DMP public interest group, now known as ASIP Santé, in February 2009.
